Rogue, Deschutes, Grande Ronde....I have hooked up on a couple others.

Not a hard core steelheader. I do plan to fish clearwater/snake/ronde more next year....But...i had that last year too lol...

This thread is like sitting in the clubhouse of an old timers all star game with a bunch of guys who hit 500+ home runs. They aren’t Ruth or Bonds but man what a group of talent.

Sometimes I just feel privileged to stand against a back wall and listen.

I don't do much in the way of replies, but here goes.
Fly- Sauk, Skagit, Skykomish, Hoh , Bogachiel.
Gear- above rivers plus, NF Sky, Pilchuck R., NF Stilly
No fish- Solduc, Sultan, Snoqualmie, NF Nooksack, Nooksack, SF Stilly, Cowlitz, Wenatchee
1st steely was on the NF stilly on gear before I became addicted to the FLY
1st Fly caught on the Sauk 33" Hen absolutely the most awesome fish I've ever caught on a fly!

Those Sauk hens are the best, my 1st winter native came from the Sauk, a snow belly clear finned hen that tore me up!

When I was a young man and could hike for many miles including mountain passes that were 11k feet altitude, I backpacked with friends and flyfished in Woming's Wind River Mountains for goldens, rainbows, native cutthroat, lakers, and brookies. Young men reading this, take note: go do it while you're still able. Don't wait. My only regret is I didn't ever go back there again.

And now, the crowds in many areas defeated even old man time in swiftness. Many of my favorite hikes I can still do, but are a disaster and packed full..even in Winter many lots are full.
