Title probably should include "South Fork". If the main stem Toulte is the Wild Steelheads last stand, Wild Steelhead are screwed.

I wonder (its just wondering, have no data to back anything up) how many steelhead strayed into the South Fork Toutle after the eruption destroyed the main stem Toutle?
Is it possible the large returns of wild steelhead, post eruption, on the SF Toutle were because of straying? The SF Toutle is not a large system and after a while the wild steelhead runs returned to what the systems habitat could handle?
