I'm thinking about it, but haven't heard/seen any birds behind us for awhile now, nor any evidence they've even been in the area. The nice thing is, people usually don't hunt in this area, so any pressure should drive them in. Good luck, gents!

When I can use my bird dogs to hunt turkeys, I'll hunt turkeys.
Setting in a bush waiting is just not my game.

When I start fishing for steelhead is when I'll start hunting turkeys. An addiction is an addiction and I've got several too many now. But good luck with the birds and post photos either way with a good story attached.

It's been so cold this spring-I'm thinking things will be better in a couple weeks, when I'm heading down to the Klickatat. Alex-I used to hunt the Nahahum Canyon area for turkey before the fire. Also used to hunt the Colockum area out of Wenatchee, both areas kind of close to you! Rick

I got a Jake up in the Blue Mountains. Probably should have tried to get a Tom, but as its my first spring bird, I'm happy. Oh, and although the beards are tiny, this Jake did have two of them! View attachment 40846 View attachment 40847

This early in the season, it can be hard to get the boss tom away from his hens, so I don't mind shooting a jake (they eat pretty good!). Then go back in a couple weeks when the old guy is getting horny, and you might just call him in! Rick

Heading out in a week or two. Hoping the weather will warm up some. Although the cool weather will keep the tick's down. Last year the tick's were the worst I had seen in a few years. And although there is a lot of sitting around turkey hunting there also is a bunch of hiking, calling and scouting. I have found some real good sheds while hunting for turkeys. It's all good. Have fun and stay safe is the golden rule.
