Trip Report Un-Belizeable

    July and August treated us well. We spent 2 weeks in Belize (last week in July and first week in August), before floating the Wallowa/Gande Ronde and Salmon-Snake River last week. We spent a week in the San Ignacio area and stayed at the Maccal River camp at Chaa Creek (highly highly recommended) and a week on Thatch Caye (also nice). In the jungle we saw a lot of wildlife, howler monkeys over our huts every day and night, iguanas, toucans, tarantulas, scorpions, 1 corral snake, agouti, kinkajou, spider monkey and coati. Was able to snorkel with a manatee, but the camera was out of juice. A pictorial report:

    That's funny my my parents were at chaa creek in January. Loved every minute of it.

    I did harvest lobsters, but not the ones in the cooler, but we did eat those in the cooler.
