Nice! Hooray for the small favors of NBC's terrible broadcast schedule.
TJ Oshie played his minor hockey at Seattle Jr Hockey Asst in Mountlake Terrace - then moved with his father back to Warroad, MN to play High School hockey and was one of the top high school players in MN - very good young man and great family.
You caught that one huh...lots of names for the old Soviet hockey teams but they were some of the best teams ever and their jerseys were great, which could be another thread in itself (best jerseys ever).
Saw the game live, by accident. woke up to watch some English league football, and this game was on... the big ice is great! Soccer and Hockey are really not made for the TV, you gotta see the games live. The big ice allows you to see more and lets the players have a bit more space to play. Its great.
Well done boys!!
The Finns just crushed Russia!
The winner of the Swede/Finn game has to be the favorite for gold. Hopefully the USA can take care of its business and met the winner of the game for the gold though that is no given.
Heartbreak of a game for the US women vs Canada today.
No doubt a heartbreaker. A great game to watch nonetheless. I love watching hockey with less checking and more stick work/skating.
I personally think the US lost it, more than Canada won it.
They played the classic "don't lose this" the last 5 minutes, which I call the "prevent the win" defense.
I agree Kaiserman the US beat themselves in the end. Still a great game to watch until that point.
Yeah... some of them there girls can put on a serious body check!
