Went out today to a lake I’d never fished before. It rained most of the day, but I had the lake to myself. No luck figuring out the fish in the morning. Went back to the launch to eat some lunch and then headed back out. Started solving the puzzle and landed two nice rainbows. Great day and I’ll be back for sure.

Nice fish. The last time I fished that lake I was almost sure I was going to get skunked for the first time on that lake. As it turned out it was the best day I have had on this lake. That day will undoubtedly give me inspiration on the next day that I can't get a bite. Jim

I know, I know :D. I need to build a bamboo rod to use with my 5wt sinking and intermediate lines. I still need to wrap the guides on the shorty, so maybe i’ll give that one a whirl.

I finally figured out how Jim knew what lake you were fishing. Yes, obtuse I can be. Nice trouts, carbon fiber still works.
