I'm on the same page and often run dry lines and skate dries over on that side. This year, I fished the dry line through several runs that I was 100% sure had fish (and later confirmed by going down), but didn't produce a single grab or boil. Been the first season that's been like that for me.

That's because there are 5-10 fish in the river. I jest, but we get a fraction of what comes over Rock Island and not much came over Rock Island.

The 'snatch is not the only east side river I speak of in this particular experience.

There is one run down by sleepy hollow that is VERY shallow right now and kind of a PITA to get down if you dont pick the only line, but it is very doable. I'm learning on this river in my buddies drift boat and it is pretty easy.

    Sop,

It's OK. Dustin Chromers needs to catch a steelhead more than I do.

Judging by the beads you use the more grease the better!

I knew this thread would turn in to beads vs spey.

Let's just settle on one thing, bead fisherman like to catch fish and spey fisherman like to cast all day.

  10. spey with a bead is the best of both worlds. you will limit all day while chucking spey with your tcx

I would use the Rio Inception line. Sometimes you have to get in those little eastside fish brains and make them dream within a dream to bite the swung bead.
