I started out as a construction go-pher during my summer between school jobs, doing everything from dirt work to demo and remodel. Got into the Insulators union as an apprentice after I thought I was done with school, which I promptly quit after spending my first six months in an oil refinery in Laurel, MT (fishing was sick though). Spent a summer in Alaska as a guide for BBL, which was a badass experience that I will likely never have again due to my distaste for some of the patrons of establishments such as that. Worked in a flyshop for a while after that, got back into the Insulators union for a few years, and now I am three months away from a student teaching intership for my Elementary Ed Degree. I still guide sometimes, however not very much, and only for smallies and carp these days.
