It has been a long while since my last deer hair diver. I do not know what got into me that I decided to make a huge mess on the bench. Here is the result...

A fun experimental idea, spinning tube fly. The mallard are shaped with uv glue to produce the propeller shape, and the red glass beads to help reduce friction. Copper winding to give a bit of weight to sink. SC15 size 6 at the end.
Not sure if it will even spin at all:) [IMG]

Big muddlers. Yeah, I got a deer hair mess going too. One thing I've found is a 3m blade called a derma blade, lots easier trimming than the old razor blades. image.jpg image.jpg

    Still messing around with mega-comets.

I have plenty of coho flies, but knowing theres a tiny run of chummies that should be in about now, I felt like tying something green. Highly unlikely I'll ever catch one but it would be a cool surprise from a SWW river. Might give a shot tomorrow if the river keeps dropping.

I bought some from a fellow member for a friend across the big water...the hardest part was trying to hold the tiny hook to put it in my vise....:)

I fished the barber pole for a bit this morning, Seattle side beach, before work. It spun pretty damn well when stripped fast, too bad there aren't any fish around to test it on. Next version will have bushier mallard flanks, maybe in alternating color.

Cool! I'll try to find time on the weekend, working late shift this week & got a couple deerhair messes still going on for a comp, plus still have to ty 10 dries for a swap! That's a nice looking reel case! :)
