It is time for another Winter Lake Swap. The last swap produced some incredible flies. I myself have some new patterns that have produced exceptionally well.
10 or 12 tiers depending on the interest. Tie two of the same pattern or two patterns. Due by Dec 20th. I might be able to get them out by Christmas then.

troutpockets arrived today and I almost ate one of the patterns myself they were so delicious looking. Dude what you did with that j hook and bit of hackle, ohhhhh that will be killer.
Tied mine last night, now have a bag full of green deer hair clippings. They are in the mail today and should get up to Everett B4 Christmas! At least that what the USPS said.
Bakerite, that is a ton of spun deer hair. I've often wanted to play with a pattern like this but always end up indicatoring to create the same effect. This pattern will change that for me. Nice JOB!
Way to go USPS! That was impressive fast service. Irafly. this is one of the few bugs that I have used that fish will come back to multiple times....I think the deer hair has a lot of "give" so it feels real to them.

Gary Knowles's just arrived and they look as good as the pictures. I'll have to tape up the envelope that you sent the flies in because you must have forgotten to slip your return envelope in there before you sent it out to me. No big, been there.
Really, honestly no big deal. As the swapmeister I expect the occasional miss. I wasn't mentioning to cause guilt, probably shouldn't have said anything at all. My bad.
I scrapped my #2 fly (bh pheasant tail nymph). Decided a streamer pattern would be better. Last winter this fly did well at Pass and then last weekend it was the hot fly again on Lone when not much else was working. This is Craven's Platte River Special but with liquid lace body.
Strung hacke is HARD to find right now so I'm using what I have and it's not perfect...
