Now you're just show'n off!
Green Butt Yarnie
Don't forget the yarnie nymph.
I wanna see a Yarnonomid or perhaps a Micro Yarnie ... I'm counting on you, Ira
... or Yarnie Emerger
HIDE YOUR CHILDREN!
It's.... THE CHERNOBYL YARNIE
I think your on to something there
That Chernobyl Yarnie is just what I needed to trick those sipping tiger muskies on the Big MissouriHole last weekend. Woulda dusted me some real chromers.
Loving the Charnyobyl
Today, at the shoe lace re-tipping factory, where I work, they gave us some new ear plugs to try. At first glance, I could not believe the coincidence, as they were chartreuse/cerise colored, which is my favorite Yarnie color combo. Since shoe lace re-tipping is fairly mentally taxing, the company give us a morning break to clear our minds. During my break, I had an epiphany about a new fly design incorporating my new ear plugs.
So tonight when I got home, I removed the ear wax from my ear plugs and created the Foam Yarnie. After all, you have Foam Hoppers, Foam Beetles, so why couldn't you have a Foam Yarnie? I just can't imagine a much better combo that a one-inch white Thingmabobber, 8-10 feet of 12 pound mono, a nice size gob of tungsten putty and a Foam Yarnie for ripping chrome lips.
This fly also has a dual purpose. Imagine this,I am gently floating down the Hoh in the Princess seat of my buddies Clacka when a dude with a radio antenna for a fly rod starts yelling, "Hey you calf ropin, bobber throwing, putty using redneck, why don't you go back to Montana where you belong?'" I can simply remove the ear plug from my hook and slide it into my ear a go back to bobber watching in peace and tranquility. May I present< the Foam Yarnie:
Oh god... what have I done?
This thread is so damn funny!
Gentlemen, I bow in the presence of such creativity. Flyfishmt, admit it now, you're Hank Patterson, aren't you?
The real funny part of this thread is that each of the flies posted will catch fish, especially dumb ol' Steelhead.
Come on man... that's the best you can do?
I want to see a Yarnzilla !!!
I hope my first steelhead on a flyrod will be on my speyarnie fly. I am going to fish that sucker hard and often.
