I like genetically modified bass myself. They make me feel like I am one with the environment when I catch them and do a great job of exterminating native fish in the area they are stocked. Plus they put up a huge fight, and make me sick when I eat them.

I have not had the fortune of having a bone burn my drag... yet.... but I have a feeling they would end up very close to the top of my list.... The same can be said for tarpon on the fly.. along with O Mykiss would probably be 1 2 3... bright, mental kings would be up there also...

Depends on where I have lived. In MT it was the brown+rainbow trout era. In WA it was the best cutthroat fishing in the world. In the appalachians my favs will likely be browns and brookies unless I figure out the striper+bluefish thing. For WA a close second is the pink salmon, for sheer action with feisty 20" fish, hard to beat. I'll be visiting the Sky every odd year the rest of my life!

Bluewater on the fly - Hamachi/Yellowtail
Bluewater all tackle - The mighty reef donkey, AKA Amberjack. Hands down the toughest fish I have ever fought lb for lb. Landed two of them over 40lbs in the Gulf of Mex.

Freshwater and estuary I only fly fish - I am really leaning towards Char lately.

This is hard one, I would have to probably go with Coastal Cutthroat as well with them being on of my most common targets anymore. However if I had to choose my favorite for beauty /color it would be a tie between California Golden Trout and Greenback Cutthroat. That being said I have a liking for any native trout, salmon or char....
