    anyone ever caught one of these in WA? this one came from Medical Lake near Spokane a couple summers ago.

    Interesting. I've never seen one of those before but I remember reading about a problem in that lake. How did it fight?

    I caught 5 or 6 out of Williams Lake near spokane about 4 years ago. Decent fight, not as tough as a carp. Williams has since been rehab'd, so no more tench!!

    There are lots of them in Sprague Lk near Spokane. Those things give me the creeps. Something about the name "Tench" make me think of some weird visuals.

    i accidentally caught some in Silver Lake (near medical lake) and they were all 20-30 inches ..

    They smell really bad and almost made me throw up.

    Very nice male Tench...they tend to have a better green color to them over here,but they are great fighters!

    I catch the shit out of those carp fishing on the Columbia. They're weird fish. Unlike carp, who flee, once they spot you they'll swim over and check you out. It's a strange feeling having a dozen of those beady, red eyes staring intently at you as they circle your pontoon.
