    Before his came out of the water, we have no idea who live there. Guess this is the spring spawners. He took purplr leech.

    sweet! We used to catch those in Texas. The one's I caught were a little smaller than that, but I had friends who had skinshides of 5-10 footers.

    Thanks for your guys' comments! This creek is in Auburn, Alabama called Chewacla creek. A tiny creek run into the Talapoosa river. I guess these gars were came from the down stream. Just visiting Chewacla creek in Spring time.

    Supporting wild steelhead, gravel to gravel.
    I've heard they arn't actually that tough to catch on the fly. People catch them often on just a chunk of nylon rope, which gets tangled in their teeth.

    has never caught a steelhead... (its sad, I know)
    I had no idea there were fish in Chewacla creek. I was always told it was barren because of pollution from the nearby rock quary. Think of all the great fishing I missed when I was in college...
