    Lagging economic indicator
There used to be a bunch of these up the west bank of the Cascade River in Boulder Creek which drains Granite Lakes. Are there still? The location of your other photos indicates you've been exploring in the area.

I actually have not explored boulder creek yet so I can't say for sure that westslopes are there, but I know for sure there are some populations somewhere in the Cascade drainage and the Suiattle drainage if you can find the right tribs. Worldanglr might be a better guy to ask about boulder creek, I know he's been around that area, but you'd better hurry he leaves for S. Ameriaca on wednesday. This fish, along with lots of others, was caught by taking the ferry across lake Chelan and hiking about 10 miles up into the mountains and poking around small streams. Didn't catch a fish over 12 inches, but when they look like this who cares?

    The Poor-Student Fly Fisher
Looks a lot like a Golden Trout to me. Could just be in spawning colors though...

I am fairly confident that this is a westlope because
    1. The spotting is continuous towards the head, and especially important below the lateral line. Golden's spots are usually confined to the caudal peduncle.
and 2. The fish was caught along with many others in a drainage that westslopes are native to, and as far as I can find, no Goldens have been stocked.
Somebody correct me if I am wrong, I believe it's a westslope, but I have always wanted to catch a Golden.

    Banned or Parked
Most definitely a westslope. Simply being a trout and being colorful doesn't make it a golden.
