    New Mexico High Country

Unfortunately, after a rough hike to this tiny meadow stream at around 9000', we found that the low snowpack had virtually wiped out the native Rio Grande Cutthroat that used to fill the creek. We only spotted one single cutthroat in one of the deeper pools. We took the high road and chose not to harass it.
