    Whatever you do, don't try to get quills for fly tying, i learned the hard way... No but really, has anyone every used porkypine quills?

    Used quills for what? Try as I might, I can't see how a porcupine quill could be used in any way for fly tying. They're about the size of a toothpick, not like the hackle stems you use for "quill" bodied flies.
