I've been known to fish from time to time...
So can you carry one around as long as it isn't concealed? Wink

What gives? Are you making a statement about concealed carry laws? Pro or Con? I am very curious. the topic is the subject among some of my friends and collegues.

I just checked. NCGS 14-415.23 & .11 are North Carolina (Randolf County) statutes prohibiting the concealed carry of firearms w/out a license. The signs were actually intended to PROMOTE the legal concealment of handguns. (google is a wonderful thing)
I have had a concealed pistol permit for quite a while and occasionally, I do carry a handgun in the city and I alway's have a .45 caliber semi auto tucked in my chest waders above my wading belt. Why? Here's a for instance: just last summer I was fishing the North Fork of the Stilly and came across a fisherman who had just been beaten up and had his car stolen minutes before I found him. Yes, it's sad we have to worry about this sort of thing but we do. No one should be judged for taking prudent measures to protect life and limb.
