I tried to catch a Yakima Trout, and all I got was this steelhead

After trying skwala dries on a pool, I tried nymphing a skwala nymph with a #14 flashback PT as a dropper. I didn't have many skwala nymphs left, so I tied the dropper on with 6x. This male steelhead grabbed that little PT. Some of the pictures I have clearly show the double beaded skwala nymph just outside his jaw. I don't know how the 6X held during the jumps. I tried to not alarm him and I brought him in close enough for some shots. I thought I might be able to tail him once but he took off like a shot. I didn't want to set up a "taking" situation, but I thought I might be able to get a genetic sample. But without help, I decided it would be best to break him off after I got the pictures.

Another cool example of those recently debated Yak Steelies. Nice. Any idea on length?

Not huge. Average sized Columbia basin steelhead, maybe 24 in. On my 5 wt. I guess I proved I can tie knots in Rio 6x mono.
