    PP - This stretch of the river was about 85 - 100 feet across. A single hand rod covered the water well enough, but the ease and efficiency of a short spey rod ( in this case a Loop Multi 12' 7 wt) made sure that every cast hit the water in just the right spot. Also, because of the river dynamics, lack of gravel bars mainly, there wasn't always sufficient back cast room and digging fly lines out of devils club begins to loose its appeal after about the third time...
