If you had one cast, how would you fish this hole? What angle (i.e. a-e), what specific fly?

Mark that has to be the most intelligent thought out answer to a question I have ever read. I bet you are one of those real cerebral types of guys.

On my knees behind the log with dry fly casting starting from below I, casting to I, then H, G, F staying low at all times.

    Cataraft fishing
First pic - windy day in my mind *G* - dead drift a hopper from I to G staying river left of the log sticking up.

Second pic - stand up river from L, drift a dry fly 16 (matching whatever looks like a hatch) to L.

This is cruel! We woke up to snow on the ground.

    Wishin' I was fishin'
I like the hopper ideas, but for something different, I'd stand at B and punch a Woolly Bugger up under that bush just above H and strip it thru that hole. I'd work along that line of bush from above H up to F. On a hot sunny day, there's a big fish lying up under that shade and a Bugger might just piss him off enough to attack it for invading his space!

I say F with a big ole streamer and let it swing/ drift and then maybe rip it back through the the slot on the right side.

Crouching upstream of C, I would hang an October Caddis, or After Dinner Mint downstream, letting it wake between E and F. Oh wait, - you're talking about TROUT.

    Nevermind Wink.

hmmm just came across this, prolly crouch at spot A and drift a dry or high stick a nymph from F-H. since i dont know where this is and whats on the menu i would say a runofthemill tan caddis or a purple haze for a dry and probly hares ear or prince nymph high sticking. non-the-less that looks like some beautiful water!
