    Yes, a male would have dorsal several times that high. Still, it is always a good day to see those dolphins on steroids swim by. If it was just a small group (less than 5 or 6 whales), it might be part of a group of transient orcas; unlike the residents which have a sweet tooth for salmon (especially chinook), the transients like their meat warm - seals, sea lions, and porpoises.
