Our timing was off on that trip. A week after a snow storm, very clear skies, very bright conditions which made for some work to land the fish we did. Rock, Upper Clark, Upper Madison, Henry's Fork, SF Snake, Silver Creek. On the trip we probably had the most fun on the Madison, with the first evening having our asses handed to us. Sak and I played tag team on a nice spot, switching out patterns one after another. Huge browns rolling head - back - tail, rather than simply sipping at the occational emerger. Never did hook up that evening, but it was fun enough that we cut Henry's Fork short and went back to the upper Madison for more. The second evening we had time to dial them in and landed a few.
The SF Snake suprised me. That's a hell of a river.
Henry's Fork, didn't spend enough time on it but did get into some nice fish in the Canyon.
