    Not trying to shoot down your fly, but usually the rabbit goes underneath when using eyes like that, the eyes will flip the fly over, you want the dark part to be on the top of your fly in the water and the light to be on the bottom, like a baitfish would.

    I appreciate the feedback. I'm just getting started in tying, so I understand the skepticism. But actually this fly does not ride upside down. Since it is only attached at the front collar area (and not all the way to the bend like my other one) the 'wing' along the top acts as kind of a parachute as it sinks. And the wire wrapped on the hook seems to help too. Another patter I plan to use when fishing near the bottom - but not a bottom crawler like the other.
