Lower river with a tribal guide? Nice fish. The dorsal fin looks like one of the lake hatchery fish.

The Quinault Tribe has a steelhead hatchery on Lake Quinault. They use native brood stock for the fish they raise in the lake pens. They don't clip most of their fish, if any. Some folks see pictures like this and freak out because they think someone killed a nate. You can tell it is a hatchery fish by the tattered dorsal fin. These fish come back from late January on. These are some serious hatchery hogs. To bad the state can't figure out how to raise hatchery fish like that.

One quick question, what did the fish take?

    Again, congrats and great fish.
