    I donno, I do like using an 8 or 7 wt usually. I have better control in moving the fish and still get as much enjoyment. Landing bigger fish is more of a reality and you can do it faster with bigger sticks. Plus the casting is easier, although i was fishing really really small stuff like sz 12s today. These streams are really brushy and a short, stout rod can be the difference between a landed and lost fish. The rootballs claimed one of my flies and a lost steelhead today because I could not control the fish.

    Catching steelhead while trout fishing, man that is rough. All I catch is smolts, whitefish, suckers and sculpin as a by-catch. WTF!
