Close of up G&L Salmon & Steelhead fly rod

Taking a break from an incredible day on the river and laid my rod down, then looked down, and had to add this to the "scrapbook". The wood is Spalted Madrone Burl.

That looks like a magazine or brochure shot. You oughtta try and sell this one!

These rods look beautiful. Not to be a jerk, but I would consider toning down the label/brand mark. I know it is only an issue of asthetics, but the overstated logo detracts from the fine wraps and wood work. Look at the finest bamboo or graphite rods and i think you'll see that less is more in the label department.

Thanks, Trevor! And thanks, too, driftboatdan. You're not being a jerk at all...we appreciate the honest feedback. In face, a couple of our Advisory Team members brought up the same issue last year and we did make some changes between '04 (the rod pictured here) and '05. We actually rarely put the series name on the rod (only demo rods)...normally it's the G&L logo and rod info (i.e. line wt to load, etc.) on the "right" side, and if anything goes on the side shown in this picture it's usually an inscription with the customer's name. This was a personal demo/prototype rod and I was thinking of potential photo opp's when we crafted it and with the Salmon & Steelhead Series being a new launch last year...you get the idea. Wink Anyway, thanks for your gracious comments and your suggestions.

    Warmly,
