It was quite a nice bonus on an already fun day. I was floating with two friends on the Cowlitz in late September. I was having a fun day hooking and releasing searun cutthroats on my six weight. The cutties were taking an October caddis nymph fly. In the last drift before our takeout, I had a vigorous strike in the confluence of a side-channel and the main flow. The next thing I knew my flyline is heading for the other side of the river. This fish was the result.
