Thanks DC...no it's not a WA fish. I happen to be home in NY visiting family for the holidays and got to do some fishing on a nearby trib. It was caught yesterday 12/4, along with a few steelhead. This is the first year that browns are showing up in good numbers along the Lake Erie Shoreline. The stocking program was started a few years ago, as a supplement to the steelhead program. The state no longer stocks any Pacific salmon in Lake Erie, and while a few wild salmon show up....its mostly piles of steel and browns. It's a hell of a lot of fun but can't compare to hooking wild fish with the Cascades or the Olympics in your shadow!
