this is mine. i'm pretty sure most everybody knows the ingredients for the popsicle so i won't list them, although i did add a few strands of flashabou as well as crystal flash. i hope it works for everybody.

Ever try tying this fly articulated? About 4-6 inches long, hint, hint...

You tie the back half on say an 1/0 hook, use arount 3-4 marabou feathers, then loop some backing, or 25+ pound line through the eye and tie down on a cheep hook. Make sure to attach the line backward, cement, then fold it back and tie and cement again (making sure that the eye of the rear hook is at the end of the shank on the cheep hook). This way it will stay on the hook. Then you tie the front half of the fly, 3-4 strands of marabou. Last you cut off the hook of the front hook leaving the shank. Some of thouse winter steelies love big wiggly flies...

I'll see if I can scan a pic of it since my digital camera is old and can't take close ups.

I fished this fly in the Salt off Whidbey I, a steelie (I think it was a steelie) slammed it at the surface and took off like a rocket. "snap" went my 12 lb tippet...no more popsicle.

Can I have another one of these? Smile
