    Phillip, I'm getting my turn time down to about a half hour, but I'm never in a hurry. Finish cand take days, depending on number of coats and temperature/humidity. Some exotic hardwoods need no finish, they have enough oil of their own, simply polish them. My lathe is a Jet-Mini with about a 6 inch swing.
