This pattern is quickly turning into a favorite. Trout simply love it. SRC off the beaches, big bows at Rattlesnake Lake, bows and browns alike at Pass lake. This fly, the only one I've tied like it, has survived (quite nicely actually) many toothy trouts. Time to tie up a few more before I lose it for good.
Not sure how much the green butt helps, but it certainly isn't hurting. The top marabou wing combined with the bead head really makes this fly dance and come alive - better than any wolly bugger, hair wing streamers, etc I've tried. Will try it out on steelhead and bull trout and see what they think.
