Yes, the VGs are a great addition. It helps not so much lower stall speed, but the ailerons stay effective in a complete stall, so it is very controllable aircraft at slow speeds. I approach at about 38mph, and set down around 32mph. This is a very modified Piper PA-12, with many one-time FAA approved modifications. I have owned it since 1978, so it is really my boy. I have owned other planes, but never could part with this one.
Ya, the 31" Bushweels are awesome. This picture was with the 29" Bushweels, a few years ago. I just put on in the fall a custom High-Tech suspension system. Cant' wait to try it with the Bushweels next summer. Right now I am running a set of 3500 Hydralic Wheel Skis, and the new suspension is awesome with it. Built out of titianium with racing technology on the dampening. Put them big soft meats on it, and it is going to be unstoppable in the rough.
