hmmm, I dont think I have ever caught a bow on the clark fork, but then again I have done little fishing on the lower clark fork. In about 10 or 15 years that river could be awesome, as they in the process of removing milltown and when they do the full clean out it is already going to wipe the fish out... Maybe not, but I cant wait! Quite the pike populations on the clark fork, and on the lower root! We need to arrange a pike killing day, all tackle is allowed, fly preferrred, but with the determination of removing the pike one by one. I bet you could get a shit load of people to come together around missoula, and then I bet people would travel from a long ways to participate... I would be down!
iv been trying Dan. hit three pikey looking spots yesterday, and still flyrod pike virgin. I had a vicious strike though, but my strip set yanked the hook. its still a little early, but late april, and may will be good for pike. Id be down for a pike kill for sure! I also agree with Jergens on the hardest fighting fish. Great shot Kevin!
It is a great river now. I can't imagine what it will be after the dam goes away. Some of the most awesome Green Drake stuff in that lower river in late May & June. Think big dry flies !!! Oh yes Joe got a 26 inch Brown last year at Superior. What a fish !!!
