    Nice fly.

This is tied on a string correct?

How did you secure the hook and string while wrapping the feathers and chenille/dubbing onto the string ?

yes, these flies are typically tied on the dacron that i would normally throw away, but you can always play around with the stiffness of different braids (i.e. fireline is on the stiff side). these flies have to be tied with two vises- one to hold the trail hook, and the other to hold the front. you pretty much treat the tensioned braid between the two like a shank, and tie on/off as usual. ill be at the ellensburg tying expo 4/21 if you want to stop by and i can show you. thanks bhudda!

yeah....Brian Chan here...that would be my bare-hooked and pregnant Mother Of All Chironomids pattern. im done with this stillwater thing, ive turned my float tube into a pool toy and my next book will be on snagging techniques with sand shrimp and polish sausage, with the dvd and 8 track due out soon thereafter.
