    Yeah and only a couple days from the salt. Maybe a throwback to the extinct sabertooth salmon (it's true) which was genetically close to the sockeye. He went a shade over 12 pounds and dwarfed the other reds we were catching, and we thought they were bigger than usual!

    that is a nice sockeye... a couple years ago while fishing on lake washington my buddy nailed a 10, 12, and monster 16 pounder ... i was happy with my 4 and 6 lber!
