My favorite sculpin pattern for Puget Sound cutts, based off of a fly called the steelhead exasperator, with a few minor changes. The top pic is of the fly dry, prior to cutting the foward hook off. Bottom is of the fly when wet.
Trailer Hook: Size 6 Daiichi X510 X Point Steelhead hook; Eyes: 5/32 Dumbell Eyes w/ sticker inserts; Stringer Line: Berkeley Fire Wire (20 or 30lb); Underbody/ Flash: 5-6 strands of flashabou (I used silver/ gold gliss ‘n glo), Pearl Hanked Lite Brite wrapped in a dubbing brush (keep it sparse) . The flash should extend back to the trailer hook.; Fins: Natural Deer or Elk hair; Tail: Natural Zonker Strips (I used squirrel strips); Head: Bob Cat Mask or Hair from the zonker strip wrapped as a dubbing brush.
