Wow! Nice fly. Recipe? Specifically, what is the bigger striped hackle.

    Marabou Fly

    Hook: Alex Jackson 3/0
    Thread: 6/0 hot orange
Body: First 1/2 silver tinsel, second 1/2 one pink and one light orange marabou plum tied in butt first and palmered together,
Body Hackle: Dyed orange Amherst pheasant tail tied in collar style in front of body prior to the marabou collar
Collar: One dark orange marabou plum tied in tip first, followed by a Wood duck flank feather.

Finding the right marabou is the key to this fly. The plums have to have long fibers and thin stems. I clip a bunch of Amherst tail fibers off the stem and tie them in one or two at a time. I take my time and make sure all the fibers have been separated. I have tied with Rhea, Ostrich and a few other odd and ends but I seem to always come back to marabou. It, for me, has a more classic feel to it and I am all about the classics
