    Eye-crowding when tying EHCs is a problem for damned near everyone. Check out Hans Welienman's step by step instructions for tying his variation called the CDC and Elk at http://www.danica.com/flytier/hweilenmann/cdcelk.htm. He trims the elk (deer) hair BEFORE he ties it in, insuring a neat, tidy head that doesn't crown the eye.
