I tie a pattern similar to the top one I was told is called a raccoon. Instead of the dry fly hackle at the eye there is 2 wraps of white ostrich herl between the "tail" (a few teal barbules) and deer hair, with the deer hair clipped like an elk-hair caddis. Very deadly patern
