    nice fish. hope you released it. dogfish sharks are a long-lived slow-reproducing native species that are often wasted by misinformed anglers who think they are helping salmon and other fish.

    Dogfish are/were wasted because they are a pain in the ass Tom, not cause anyone is misinformed.
    PnP back in the day used to be a floating mess of doggies, hake and ratfish. The death of salmon mooching has sure changed that though.

    Yes, it was released just fine. There's no point in killing any fish you don't intend to eat, especially not a native one. It did close it's mouth for the pic, though, it had it's mouth open for a bit.... I do agree with D3Smartie that they can be a pain, though, but not worth killing them. -Ethan
