I give this the most creative design award...I doubt it will work for the carp I cast to.... the corn hatch is not really a factor in central WA

It seems like a good pattern to me. I have had good luck with a variety of corn flies. One of my favorite techiniques is to chum a shallow stream that has feeding carp with handfuls of corn. Once they start competing for the drifting corn, toss a properly weighted corn fly into the same feeding lanes.
I have also had luck without chumming first but I don't see much difference between a natural chum line (hatch) and one made by me.
