I dont know how much youve fished these, but the one with the eye in it? Those patterns almost completly identicak, have KILLED for years on the tribs of 4 out of the 5 great lakes in spring for steelies coming in and eating the newly hatched salmon fry, and also in the early fall when emerald shiners from the mail lake make short runs into the lower rivers to spawn. A VERY effective pattern for anything; the sparser, and more subtle--the better. This fly has worked best for me when it kinda 'blends in'.j Oh yeah, and if you grease up a long leader and keep it just under the surface on a hard swing, Atlantic salmon jump all over it in a place that I fish in Canada.
