    James a lot of the fish that have been in freshwater since early summer or spring are going to look like this. They have lost most of their fat stores and I have seen several this Fall on both sides of the state.

    All of the hatch brats from the Snoq I have seen this year seem to have this slender profile.

    Hey CLO, I know they spawn in the spring, but hatchery fish (especially Chambers creek stock) are notorious for spawning extremely early and actually coming in ripe from the ocean. Since this was apparently a summer fish, it makes sense it was skinny. Mostly I was courious because of the distended ovipositor.
