    Patagon guy, your not the first to note this. The fish went to MI State University for identifiaction. I have no update on the status, will need to send a couple inquiries. I will edit the title accordingly.


    This fish weighed in at 29 lbs 11 ounce.


    Current state record was taken in the open waters of lake Michigan by Elaine Bender 1981


    41 inch length.. 32 lbs 10 ounce. The fish was never submitted for IFGA recognition.

    O.K, I never found or read any further info on the DNA testing results. Read a brief commentary from our regional senior fish habitat biologist referrencing Torch Lake that "Someone caught a 29 lb Brown Trout there this past spring". That must be the same fish and was finally identified as a Brown Trout.
