Hook; TMC 2457 #12-16
Butt; Red crystal flash
Body; Black supper floss or tying thread. I like to use super floss on size 12 or 14 hook because it has good reflective qualities, but use tying thread on smaller chirons to avoid bulkiness.
Rib; Rainbow crystal flash.
Thorax; Peacock 3-4 turns.
Head; White glass bead head.
Fishing suggs; This is often my go to chiron in water 6ft deep or less. It is most effective where you see chirons hatching which are quite bright apprearing due to light reflecting off the air bubbles trapped under the body, or when fish are keyed in on the white gills of rising chironomids.. Try replacing the white glass bead with a tungston bead and add white z-lon gills and fish it at Pass lake.....Killer, Steve, (Rxfisher)
