Beadhead Glenn’s Leech
This one is out of Rowley’s Fly Patterns for Stillwaters book.
Hook: Size 10 heavy wire scud
Bead: 1/8” gold
Tail: Olive zonker strip cut short
Body: Olive marabou tied in at tips and wrapped forward
Rib: small copper wire
I started fishing this one at Amber Lake just after ice-out. I always hang it under an indicator and like to give it some life with a twitchy retrieve. Fish it right up against the cattails in 3-6’. It’s especially effective when the water is cold and fish are cruising those edges.
