    Surprise springer



    Went to catch some shad but all I caught was this shiny spring Chinook jack. Adipose clipped. Way more tasty than a shad.


    By the third and forth fast run, I knew it wasn't a shad. Maybe I should try some bigger chartreuse flies.

    Awesome! Pretty sure a surprise chinook is enough to offset about a hundred shad.
