    Cutthroat or small steel?



    This fish was caught from a remote west coast vancouver island river system that has a decent summer run as well as very large cutthroat (up to 5 lbs) that live in the lake. question is, which is this?

    I dont think that looks at all like a cutt. I would vote for Steelhead or resident bow.

    Cruik
    Cutthroat. Yellowish mandible, elongated snout, blushing on the gill plate but none on the body. Not saying there aren't any o. mykiss genetics in there, though.
