    Not so stillwater

"Stillwater" steelhead fishing but not really. The dark patch in the top center is a school of steelhead holding in the invisible, sub-surface current of the tributary outflow. The surface water (Columbia water) is dead calm and not moving. Fly line is sinking with no tension, yet can be "swinging" from right to left.

Rare day here with no wind and super clear water due to the Columbia river surface layer being only a foot or so deep.
